d'Eon Vivant is a small business operated out of Milwaukee, WI. All of the fragrances, packaging, and marketing is done by our owner in his apartment. The name d’Eon Vivant was inspired by the life story of Chevalier d’Eon. d’Eon was born in 1728 and was raised as a man throughout her childhood, although she had very androgynous features. She was born into a poor noble family in Burgundy, France. In 1756, during the Seven Years’ War she became a spy for King Louis XV, and made good use of her androgynous feature as she dressed like a lady of the time while spying. This proved to make her an incredibly successful spy for the French military. After the Seven Year’s War she moved to London to become a diplomat and lived in political exile from France after a falling out with a superior. In 1977 said that she was born a woman and was just raised as a man so her father could inherit from his in-laws. She was officially recognized as a woman by King Louis XVI and she lived out her days a woman wearing woman’s clothes and being recognized as a woman. The ethos of this brand is to create fragrances that are unisex and androgynous but use both strong element masculinity and femininity. We use traditionally viewed masculine and feminine notes, mostly found in fragrances sold for there respective gender, and bring them together in harmony to create beautiful scents anyone can feel confident wearing. We want you to feel powerful and strong, confident in your own identity!
